Philip Morris USA said it has filed suit against 17 retailers in the Miami area as part of its campaign against the sale of counterfeit Marlboro cigarettes in south Florida.
More than one million packs of counterfeit Marlboros may be available annually in the Miami area, which would rank it as one of the top three areas in the US for counterfeit cigarettes, the tobacco company said in a statement. The civil suit (1:11-cv-22199-DLG). was filed in U.S. District Court for Southern Florida, according to the court website. (pi)
