Philip Morris International (PMI) will begin marketing an Altria e-cigarette product in markets outside the US this March, the companies said.

MarkTen, using FourDraw technology developed by Altria subsidiary Nu Mark, will be licensed to PMI and sold abroad under the Solaris brand, PMI Chief Financial Officer Jacek Olczak told an investors conference in New York. Solaris will debut in Spain this March, he said.
Altria, owner of Philip Morris USA, said it is working with PMI to complete research on heat-not-burn technolgy needed to petition the US Food and Drug Administration for certification as modified risk tobacco products.
