The national assembly on Monday passed a law that bans smoking in public places and all tobacco advertising, reports AFP.
The law, which will take effect from next May, also makes it illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone under 18 years old, said a parliamentary official quoted in the AFP article.
Smoking in public places, including schools, hospitals, office buildings and on public transport, was banned already in 2010 by a government decree, but that order was widely ignored. (pi)
