Republic Tobacco, a US maker of RYO tobacco and paper, is seeking a buyer and may be worth more than USD 2 billion (EUR 1.65 billion), according to a Reuters report citing unnamed sources.
Interest has come from private-equity firms, according to the Reuters story. Republic Tobacco is being advised by Credit Suisse, Reuters reported. The company is the US manufacturer of Drum rolling tobacco and also makes Job cigarette papers and Top rolling tobacco. Republic Tobacco is owned by DRL Enterprises, the news agency reported. (pi)
