R.J. Reynolds Vapor Co., the vapour product division of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, issued a safety recall of 2.6 million power units sold with its Vuse Vibe electronic cigarettes, Associated Press reported.
The nationwide recall of all Vuse Vibe power units follows consumer reports that the batteries for Vuse Vibe had malfunctioned and overheated, creating a fire risk, but not causing any injuries, Associated Press said.
R.J. Reynolds Vapor advised owners of the product to stop using the power unit and to contact the company for a refund, the news agency said.
