Roland Imperial Tobacco Company (RITC) will build a tobacco processing plant in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone to supply a cigarette factory on the same site, the Times of Zambia reported.
USD 20 million (EUR 15 million) will be invested in the plant to be constructed next year. RITC two weeks ago signed a lease agreement for property to build a cigarette factory in the economic zone, the newspaper said. A cigarette factory being established by sister company Zambian Cigarette Company in Makeni Industrial Park eventually will relocate to the zone, the Times reported.
RITC is 100 per cent Zambian owned and makes the Pacific and Pegasus cigarette brands, according to the company website.
