The new name signalises the rebirth of the company following extensive capital restructuring. Another boost has been the granting of a US patent for their e-cigarette.

The patent covers the company's core invention, the electronic atomization cigarette, commonly referred to as the e-cigarette: all key components and the functionality of the electronic cigarette in respect of the battery, vaporisation mechanism, activation switch, and flavour cartridge.
In addition to the US, Dragonite now holds patents all EU states, Russia and the former Soviet republics, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, India, Mexico, Singapore, and Israel.
