The French tobacco manufacturer Seita increased net profits by 15 per cent in 1996 to FF 786 million; turnover reached FF 17.4 billion
The reasons for this leap in profits are apparently higher retail prices in France and an increase of exports, which were alone responsible for net profits of FF 207 million. The company will focus further on exports and on the improvement of its domestic market share of blonde cigarettes.
