An investigation into suspicions of corruption conducted by the Serious Fraud Office has been abandoned, according to a BAT press release.
It had been announced on 1 August 2017, that British American Tobacco (BAT) was under investigation of suspicions of corruption in the conduct of its business. Now, the UK’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has informed the company that they are no longer investigating the case.
“BAT is pleased that the SFO has closed its investigation and that the SFO is taking no further action in respect of this matter. BAT remains committed to the highest standards in the conduct of its business,” the company stated in a press release.
