Shanghai Tobacco Package Printing purchased from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen the longest offset press in the Chinese market.
With the Speedmaster 10-colour press with perfecting device, two coating units and two drying units Shanghai Tobacco aims to upgrade its print shop to be more flexible and expects to increase productivity in UV and double-coating printing by up to 30 per cent.
With the new 14-unit press the company, which is mainly producing cigarette packages, will be able to print the interior as well as the exterior of its products.
Shanghai Tobacco, which is already equipped with six multi-colour Heidelberg presses, anticipates installating the press in September 2012. (pi)
