ISLE OF MAN
Smoking banned at all health settings

Smoking is now banned from all health and care settings on the island whereas vaping will still be allowed in certain outdoor areas, reports the BBC.

While smoking has already been banned at hospital sites and GP practices since last year, it is now forbidden to light up at all other health and care settings such as care homes and sheltered living complexes. According to the BBC, the smoking ban applies to all staff, residents and visitors at facilities that are run by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), and health care provider Manx Care. Vaping will however still be permitted in certain outdoor areas.
Health and social care minister Lawrie Hooper said the ban was part of plans to cut the smoking population from 12 per cent to under 5 per cent by 2030. He said that the move was not aimed at stigmatising smokers but had been put in place to "instead establish smoke free spaces for everyone to benefit from and to de-normalise smoking to prevent future generations from starting".
