According to a bill adopted by the Latvian parliament in its last week’s session, a total ban on tobacco smoking in public catering establishments is to be introduced as of 1 April 2010.
Restaurants, casinos and gaming lounges are to arrange special places for smokers. Smoking will also be prohibited in cabs, municipal and intercity transport except in trains and on boats having special smoker cars or cabins. (vt)
