Hauni Executive Board member Jürgen Spykman will succeed Christopher Somm next year as chief executive officer of Hauni Maschinenbau, the company said.

Spykman has been a Board member since 2009 and will become deputy chairman in January, prior to taking over the helm on 1 April, 2016. With Somm’s departure, the four-member Board will be trimmed to three. Somm, also a member of the Executive Board at parent company Körber, will remain responsible for the group’s tobacco business, strategic marketing and sales.
Next October, Somm will replace Körber CEO Richard Bauer as chairman of the Hauni Supervisory Board. Bauer will relinquish the chief executive post in October and move to the Körber Supervisory Board. Körber Chief Financial Officer Stephan Seifert will replace Bauer as CEO.
