Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) plans to appeal the ban announced by the government on what it considers to be alluring brand names for tobacco products, the company said.
Two STG brands, Café Crème and Paradise, would be affected under the ban set to take effect from 1 February 2018. The brands represent nearly 4 per cent of Group sales, STG said. Removal of brands bearing names deemed alluring or glamorous are part of changes to packaging regulations that impose a unitary look for tobacco products by stipulating a standard plain colour for all packaging and uniform display of brand names.
