Swedish Match unveiled an expanded research and development facility at its manufacturing plant in Owensboro, Kentucky, that the company said would double testing capability in the US.
"The new centre will allow us to better differentiate our product lines and quickly respond to competitive products and new regulations," said Thord Hassler, vice president of research and development. The 10,000 ft² expansion cost USD 3.5 million (EUR 3.2 million). The new unit includes newly designed laboratories, dedicated sensory test zone, controlled environment chamber storage and a microbiological testing area, the company said.
