Swedish Match has announced that it will be halting plans to spin off and list its US cigar business, reports Reuters.

The tobacco and nicotine product producer had been planning to separate its cigar business, but it now appears plans have been put on hold due to regulatory uncertainties.
“The Board has today decided to suspend the preparations for the contemplated spin-off until further notice,” Swedish Match said in a statement. “Today’s decision to suspend the spin-off preparations was prompted by regulatory uncertainties facing the cigar business.”
According to Reuters, the board still has the strategic intent to go ahead with the plans but has pinpointed the second half of 2022 as the earliest date.
