Schweitzer-Mauduit International (SWM) plans to expand its capacity to produce cigarette papers embossed with distinctive markings this year at a plant in France, the company said.
Additional filigreed-paper capacity for roll-your-own (RYO) and cigarette papers at the plant in Saint Girons should be ready in the third quarter of this year, SWM said. Machinery has been purchased for the expansion, the company said. Special focus would be on the RYO sector.
"Not only will we be able to serve our customers' growing demand, but we will do so with state-of-the-art equipment that will provide high quality and diverse offerings for our customers to differentiate their brands in the marketplace," said Michel Fievez, executive vice president for global paper.
