Scottish researchers are testing a cigarette pack that plays an anti-smoking message each time the pack is opened, The Scotsman reported.
Packs fitted with voice recordings and a playback unit have been tested on women between the ages of 16 and 24, and will be expanded to older age groups and men, the newspaper said in a story on its website. Research is being done by the Centre for Tobacco Control Research at Stirling University.
Study participants said the repetitive message was effective and annoying, The Scotsman said.
