For the third time, Tobacco Journal International received the prestigious Golden Cylinder Award, which is awarded annually by the American Rotogravure Association.
On 11 May 2006, TJI's artfully designed cover that was launched on the occasion of TABINFO Kuala Lumpur in November 2005 received this prize for its spectacular design and state-of-the-art printing technology that was used in its production. Furthermore, the cover was given the Best of the Best Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding category winner of all.
TJI had already received the Golden Cylinder Award for its famed Golden Issue on the occasion of Drupa in 2000 and for its special cover on its TABEXPO Barcelona show issue in 2003, for which it also received the Best of the Best Award. Like the current winning cover, the previous titles had been designed by a team of printing technology experts, led by Dutch design agency van Heertum, and printed by Dutch company Gestel. (sr)
