The Tobacco Control Commission estimates crop damage from floods early this year will reduce output to about 180 million kg, which is 10 million kg below 2014, according to Malawi 24.
Bruce Munthali, commission executive director, said lower production for the major foreign currency earner tobacco would deal a blow to the country’s economy, the online news publication reported.
