The average price per kilogramme of tobacco at USD 2.76 (EUR 2.56) is 9.13 per cent below last year’s average at this stage of the selling season, the Zimbabwe Herald said.
Data from the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) show weak auction floor prices, averaging USD 2.35 per kg compared with contract sales at USD 2.93, the Herald said. Total volume so far this season at 42.3 million kgs is 2.7 million kgs less than last year, the newspaper said.
