Azerbaijani president Ilham Aiev issued a decree on stricter state control of alcohol and tobacco manufacturing and turnover including import.

The government is commissioned with working out a specific package to secure proper quality of tobacco products and raw materials, their origin in particular. Stricter terms of licensing of alcohol and tobacco manufacturing are also to be elaborated within a month’s term. Besides, a detailed programme of priority research projects in the field and manpower development is to be laid down, national news agencies report. (vt)
