The Ukrainian economy minister is putting into effect tougher smoking control measures as of 1 January 2007, reports Rustabak trade news agency with reference to the ministry’s latest decree.
Cigarette makers will be obliged to place bigger health warnings on cigarette packs covering at least 30 per cent of a pack’s surface. In addition to the basic warning, more detailed wordings describing smoking risks are introduced. All tobacco products made locally or imported into Ukraine prior to the new regulations will be allowed for sale until their use-by date. (vt)
