Imperial Tobacco expanded use of case-trace to four factories and six markets, increasing the reach of the anti-illicit trade technology to 11 production sites and 13 European Union markets, the company said.

Case trace allows markets to track bulk supplies through to the customers and identify product that falls outside the legitimate supply chain, Imperial said. A cross-functional team has workd for two years to implement the technology.
Next phase of the roll-out is Germany and global duty-free markets, Imperial said.
