A conference on leaf issues with experts from around the world is planned for the sidelines of the World Tobacco Turkey 2013 trade exhibition to be held in Istanbul this May, organizers said.
Topics on the two-day agenda include the growth potential for African leaf and outlook for European growers. Fumigation and sustainability issues also will be examined. Graham Kayes, Africa regional director for leaf supplier Alliance One International, and Carlo Sacchetto, secretary general of the European Federation of Tobacco Processors (FETRATAB) are among featured speakers. Conference Chairman is Noyan Gürel of Sunel, one of Turkey’s oldest leaf tobacco dealers. Trade fair dates are 29-31 May. The conference will take place on the first two days. (ci)
