As of Monday a full ban on advertising tobacco products went into effect in Macedonia.
All advertisements for tobacco products must be removed from bars, restaurants, retail and service shops.
The ban also applies to indirect advertising of cigarettes by displaying a logo, specific lettering, signs, symbols and slogans used in advertising or which raise associations to products. Vendors are allowed to display cigarettes in the original packaging along with price tags. Fines for violating the ban range between EUR 2,000 and EUR 4,500. (pi)
