Alliance One International’s Kenyan subsidiary will cease field operations from 1 July and reduce staff due to falling demand for the local tobacco, according to CapitalFM.
Alliance One Kenya will maintain a minimal presence at its Thika processing base and continue to market its inventory, the website reported. Alliance One first purchase Kenyan tobacco in 1983, and set up a legal entity in the country in 1990.
