British American Tobacco says demand in its Sendai test market for the company's glo tobacco heating device has been stronger than expected, prompting BAT to institute a lottery system to meet customer demand, Reuters reported.
Glo is a heat-not-burn device using Kent brand tobacco cartridges that was introduced in the city of Sendai in December. The lottery system was instituted at BAT’s flagship glo shop in Sendai, where the tobacco heating device also is sold in about 600 convenience stores, Reuters said in a story citing BAT Japan marketing official Nami Uehara. BAT plans a national launch for glo in Japan later this year.
