British American Tobacco Ukraine has announced the modernisation of its Priluki plant completed.

The three-year modernisation programme was based on an investment of US$ 10.5 million. The plant with a production capacity of 25 billion cigarettes per year is expected to make 19 billion pieces this year, almost 20 per cent down from the last year’s 22.6 billion sticks. However, with the upgraded cigarette making lines put into operation, BAT Ukraine plans to replace all imports by locally made products, emphasis being made on Kent and Vogue in the first place. (vt)
