British American Tobacco have announced that they will be launching two new vaping products in Japan, Japan Times reported.

British American Tobacco will be releasing two new tobacco heating devices under their Glo brand. The move comes in an attempt to challenge Philip Morris’s domination of Japan’s quickly growing vaping industry, Japan Times reported.
The two new devices will be released in October and will be called Glo Pro and Glo Nano. Both devices will be smaller in size and will contain new tobacco heating technology. Their release comes a month after the launch of another product under the Glo brand, Glo Sens. The Glo brand itself was launched in Japan in 2016.
BAT’s Glo products are all categorised as ‘heat-not-burn’ devices. The article states that, according to analysts at Nomura, the ‘heat-not-burn’ industry almost doubled in Japan in 2018. Philip Morris’s iQOS devices make up 71.8 per cent of the industry’s market and BAT’s Glo devices account for 20.1 per cent. Japan Tobacco Inc.’s Ploom Tech come third with 8.1 per cent of the market.
