The City Council of Beverly Hills, California, has voted unanimously to ban almost all sales of tobacco products from 2021, ABC News reported.
If passed, cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes will no longer be sold at gas stations, pharmacies, convenience stores or at grocery stores, according to The Associated Press, ABC News reported.
Hotels and three cigar lounges in the tony Los Angeles suburb are exempt from the ban, according to the report.
This is first ban of this type to be tried in the United States.
