Shifang, a city in the tobacco growing region of Sichuan province, is planning a museum dedicated to cigar history and technology as the centrepiece of a campaign to draw aficionados to the region, China Daily reported.
The 4,000m² museum will focus on the history of the nearby Great Wall Cigar Factory, known for prominent customers Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, the newspaper said, citing Shifang Mayor Qing Wei. Factory tours also will be available. This May the city sponsored a cigar festival, China Daily said.
