An agreement between tobacco companies, the government and anti-smoking agencies on corrective statements that admit companies deceived the public about health dangers faces another appeal that will delay the advertising, Reuters said.
Tobacco company lawyers at a court hearing on 22 Jan said they will appeal proposed wording for the ads originally ordered by US District Court Judge Gladys Kessler in 2006, the news agency said. An appeal on wording could go all the way to the Supreme Court, Reuters reported.
