Delfortgroup plans to buy packaging printer Mundet to enhance the presence of the Austria-based specialty paper maker in the United States, the company said.

Mundet has supplied the tobacco industry with gravure printed specialty packaging for more than 50 years from two manufacturing locations in the US and one in Mexico. Annual sales are USD 80 million (EUR 74 million) and the company employs 290 people.
Delfortgroup has a workforce of 2,000 and operates six plants in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Finland and Vietnam. Sales last year were about EUR 700 million (USD 759 million), the company said.
