A disagreement between tobacco growers and leaf traders has caused irritation on the Greek tobacco market
Only 38 per cent of the current harvest had been sold by April 1997; the buying season, which started in November, ended on May 15, 1997.
The inaction was caused by a disagreement on price settings. Leaf traders refused to pay prices which have been fixed in 1996, citing a difficult world market situation.
