Today is the opening of the global tobacco treaty's first Conference of the Parties (COP), a two-week meeting where governments will decide on critical details for the enforcement of the world's first corporate accountability treaty.
Formally known as the World Health Organisation (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), the treaty has been ratified by 113 countries in time to vote at the first COP. (ci)
