Due to the fast-spreading coronavirus outbreak, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stopped its work on compliance checks and inspections of vape shops, reports Reuters.
In wake of the virus, the FDA has begun to scale back both domestic and foreign inspection, postponing them through April. Administrative work on cases may continue for up to two weeks and most of the FDA’s staff has switched to teleworking, according to Reuters.
Reuters calculates that, so far, the coronavirus has infected more than 227,000 people across 175 countries. In the US, over 10,000 people have tested positive and 150 have died, reports the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
