A novel Food and Drug Administration (FDA) anti-smoking advertising campaign targeting youth may cost as much as USD 600 million (EUR 437 million), the Washington Post reported.
Scheduled to begin early next year, the five-year campaign will use demographic research to produce anti-smoking ads designed to appeal to various groups in the 12-17 age group, the newspaper said in a story on its website.
As much as USD 390 million will go to six private-sector agencies hired for the programme, according to an advertising industry publication report in September.
