Ferrari's decades-long partnership with Philip Morris is about to come to an end, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, reports Sports Mole.
According to the report, it is likely that the famous Italian team, whose relationship with the Marlboro cigarette brand dates back to 1973, is looking for a new title sponsor for 2022 and beyond.
It is believed that Ferrari and Philip Morris will continue to work together, but not with the huge title sponsorship deal, which is said to have cost the tobacco giant around EUR 125 million a year.
"The agreement we have will expire at the end of the year but we are talking with Philip Morris," Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto was quoted as saying. "The relationship is good and we will see how it will go on in the coming months. It is very likely that they will stay with us, but perhaps not as the title sponsor," he added.
