The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) plans to collect data from the e-cigarette industry on sales, marketing activities and expenditures to better understand a complex and new industry, the consumer agency said.
Clearance is being sought from the Office of Management and Budget to collect information from e-cigarette marketers via a 60-day public comment period, the FTC said. Topics to be put out for comment include whether the FTC should collect data on types of products, flavours, nicotine strengths and liquid capacities.
