Golden Tobacco has begun packaging products with the new 85 per cent health warnings, the first cigarette maker to do so after manufacturers halted production in protest, the Times of India said.
The new warnings came into effect on 1 April and mandate 85 per cent combined warnings on both the front and back of the pack. Previously warnings covered 40 per cent of one side, the newspaper said. Golden Tobacco manufacturers Panama and Golden Gold Flake cigarettes.
