The government sent a series of curbs on tobacco and alcohol use to parliament that include separate seating sections for smokers and non-smokers at outdoor venues and a ban on alcohol advertisements, the Sabah news site reported.
Smoking while driving private vehicles would be prohibited under the bill introduced 10 May, according to Sabah. Warning notices on the dangers of using alcohol will become part of the packaging, the website reported.
Turkey bans indoor smoking in public places and recently instituted a ban on smoking narghile at outdoor cafes. Electronic cigarettes would be considered as tobacco products and subjected to the restrictions, Sabah reported. (pi)
