Hauni Maschinenbau, a leading provider of technology for cigarette production and tobacco processing, opened a sales and service branch in Izmir to provide speedier service to clients in a leading tobacco market, the company said.

A team of sales and service personnel will be headed by Managing Director Baris Ulus, who joined Hauni last year after working for the German technology conglomerate ThyssenKrupp in Turkey.
Turkey is among the top 10 producers and consumers of tobacco products and has close cultural and commercial relationships with many of its surrounding countries, Hauni said. “It was therefore a logical step for Hauni, as the leading supplier to the tobacco and cigarette industry, to move a step closer to its customers in the country,” the Hamburg-based company said in a statement.
