Hawaii Governor David Ige signed into law a measure to raise the minimum age to 21 for purchase, possession and use of tobacco and vaping products, the first state to do so, the governor's office said.
Previously the minimum age was 18. The law will take effect in January, 2016, the executive office said in a statement. Gov Ige also signed into law a ban on use of all tobacco products, again including e-cigarettes, at public parks and beaches.
