The House of Representatives will take up regulation of electronic cigarettes, including requiring manufacturers to register with the government and place health warnings on their product, the legislature said.
House Bill 5093 filed by Rep Eric Olivarez says the Department of Health (DOH) should set the size and content of the warnings. DOH also would be empowered to impose flavour and composition restrictions on e-liquids to reduce ill effects of vaping and nicotine addiction, the legislature said in a press release. The bill would regulate manufacture, distribution, sale importation and use of e-cigarettes.
