The House Armed Services Committee has blocked plans by the Navy to prohibit tobacco sales on military bases, the Navy Times said.
An amendment inserted into the defence spending authorisation for fiscal year 2015 blocks defence officials from enacting “any new policy that would limit, restrict or ban the sale of any legal consumer product category”, the Navy Times reported.
