ITMGroup has acquired US automation specialist Thomas Automation Management (TAM), the Netherlands-headquartered machine maker said in a press release.

Effective 1 August, ITM said TAM will operate as an independent company within the ITM group and will continue to provide automation solutions and technical services to its customers. TAM will retain its existing management and US location, the press release said.
ITMGroup has worked closely with TAM since its founding in 2010 and ITM said the company has provided automation solutions for ITM machine platforms such as Capricorn, Saturn, Gemini, Polaris and Solaris, and has installed and serviced ITM machines in the US and at other locations around the world.
"This merge is the natural progression of our eight-year relationship with ITMGroup", Ricky Thomas, CEO of TAM said. "Our common customers in the tobacco industry will definitely benefit from the combined experience of our two companies. TAM is very excited to be part of a strong and well-respected group, with such a rich history."
