JT will launch the Heated Tobacco device in Japan on 2 July, alongside a two new Camel menthol tobacco stick products, according to a company press release.

The Ploom S 2.0 device is specialised for menthol and the new Camel products will be “Camel Menthol Red” and “Camel Menthol Yellow”. These products will become available at convenience stores and select tobacco retailers across Japan from 2 July 2020.
According to the report, the device comes equipped with a new heating mode, “TASTE ACCEL”. This lengthens the duration of the peak heating temperature, which allows for a balance of menthol, vapour and tobacco tastes. The new device also has a shorter charging time, as well as the capability for more tobacco sticks to be used in a single charge.
As well as being menthol products, Camel Menthol Red will have a “crisp and sweet apple flavour” and Camel Menthol Yellow a “fresh and sweet citrus flavour”. These two products have been developed in conjunction with Ploom S 2.0, which should further enhance the flavours of these two tobacco stick products. Initial sales for all of these products will be at Ploom Shops, the CLUB JT Online Shop and a select number of tobacco retailers from 22 June, before the general release on 2 July.
