Japan Tobacco’s (JT) domestic market share for October gained one percentage point over market share reported for the 10 month period January – October, despite a continuing fall in domestic sales volume.
JT’s domestic market share for October was 62.1 per cent, one percentage point above the 61.1 per cent reported for January-October 2017. The cigarette maker’s domestic sales for the month, meanwhile, at 7.5 billion sticks, were down 12.5 per cent from the 8.6 billion sticks shipped in the same month last year, according to JT’s domestic cigarette sales results for October.
Total domestic sales for the January – October period were 77.9 billion sticks, down 11.9 per cent on the same period last year. Revenues for its domestic cigarette business over the January – October 2017 period were down 10.5 per cent to JYP 463.2 billion (EUR 3.48 billion).
