Juul Labs faces declining sales and thousands of lawsuits while the FDA checks whether it can keep selling their products at all, reports The New York Times.
According to the report, Juul Labs sales have plunged by USD 500 million after operations in 14 nations have been abandoned and many US based lobbying campaigns have been shut down.
The FDA is trying to meet a 9 September-deadline to decide whether Juul’s e-cigarettes and nicotine pods have enough public wellbeing benefit as a safer alternative for smokers to keep on the market, the report said.
Juul's share of the vaping market has declined significantly, from a high of 75 per cent in 2018 to 42 per cent last year, according to analysts. By today, fourteen states and the District of Columbia have sued Juul after allegations that the company has fuelled vaping among young people across America.
